Terms of service

Last updated 2 November 2026

These terms cover the Lumen apps for Windows, Android and Samsung TV, the optional Lumen account, and this website (together, "Lumen"). Lumen is made by an independent developer. By installing or using Lumen you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What Lumen is

Lumen is a player and organiser. It shows titles, artwork and details from public sources, and plays what the addons and services you add can find, such as Stremio-compatible addons, Real-Debrid, TorBox or Easynews. Lumen doesn't host, upload, store or provide any video, and it isn't connected to any addon or streaming source. Those are run by other people under their own terms.

What you're responsible for

Your Lumen account (optional)

You can use Lumen without an account. If you create one, give accurate details, keep your sign-in safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account and everything saved in it at any time from Settings › Account › Delete account. We may suspend or remove an account that is used to break these terms or to abuse the service. How your data is handled is explained in the privacy policy.

Free to use, with a licence

You may install and use Lumen for personal, non-commercial use for free. Lumen and its artwork, name and logo stay the property of its developer. Lumen includes open-source software and uses services such as TMDB, Cinemeta, Kitsu, AniList and AniSkip, each under its own licence or terms. Lumen uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Names such as Samsung, Roku, Discord, Real-Debrid and Stremio belong to their owners, and Lumen isn't made by or affiliated with any of them.

Updates

Lumen may check for, download and install updates, and may change or remove features, including features that depend on outside services, at any time. Old versions may stop working.

Donations

Lumen is free. If you choose to donate, for example through the Buy Me a Coffee page, it's a voluntary gift to help with the upkeep of the project. A donation doesn't give you any extra features, priority support or ownership, and gifts aren't refundable unless the law where you live says otherwise. Donations are handled by the donation service, which has its own terms.

No warranty

Lumen is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will work on your device, be free of errors, be secure, or be available without interruption, or that any addon, source or outside service will keep working. Streams, subtitles, ratings and details come from third parties and may be wrong or unsuitable.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer isn't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using or not being able to use Lumen, including lost data, lost profits, problems with addons or accounts you connect, or content you choose to watch. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have by law that can't be limited, or liability that can't legally be excluded.

Copyright and takedown requests

Lumen doesn't host any content, so there is nothing on our side to take down. If you believe that something in Lumen's own app, website or releases infringes your rights, please tell us using the contact below with enough detail to find it, and we'll look into it.

Stopping and changes

You can stop using Lumen at any time by uninstalling it. We may update these terms; the new version will be posted on this page with a new date, and using Lumen after that means you accept it. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
